Overview

The Shimshal Pass Trek ventures into one of the most mesmerizing valleys in Pakistan, reaching the high pasture lands of the mysterious Pamirs at 4735m. The trek crosses Shidopen Pass and ascends Minglik Sar (6050m), offering views of Velyo Sar (6030m) and Quz Sar (5900m). The Shimshal Pass area lies on the South Asia-Central Asia water divide, near the Wakhan Corridor, with crystal-clear lakes, yaks and ibex on the grasslands, and even occasional snow leopard sightings.

    Arrival in Islamabad, hotel transfer

  2. Day 2

    Fly to Gilgit or drive to Chilas

  3. Day 3

    Drive to Karimabad, Hunza, acclimatization

  4. Day 4

    Drive to Passu and Shimshal village

  5. Day 5

    Trek from Shimshal village along the Shimshal gorge

  6. Day 6

    Continue trek to Shimshal Pamir pastures

  7. Day 7

    Trek to Shimshal Pass (4735m) and Shimshal Lake

  8. Day 8

    Explore the Pamir meadowlands and lakes

  9. Day 9

    Optional ascent of Minglik Sar (6050m)

  10. Day 10

    Cross Shidopen Pass, descend towards Shimshal Valley

  11. Day 11

    Continue trekking through the gorge

    Return to Shimshal village

    Drive to Gulmit, boating on Attabad Lake

    Hunza sightseeing (Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, Duikar)
