Overview

Rush Lake at 4,694m is one of the highest trekking lakes in the world. Located above the Minapin Glacier in the Nagar district near Hunza, the trek passes through pastures, glacial moraine, and rocky terrain before arriving at the stunning lake surrounded by 7,000m peaks. The views include Diran (7,266m), Rakaposhi (7,788m), and the entire Hunza–Nagar panorama.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1 — Drive to Minapin + Trek to Tagafari

    30 min drive. 4 hrs trek, 3,300m.

  2. Day 2 — Tagafari → Rakaposhi Base Camp

    3–4 hrs, 3,800m.

  3. Day 3 — Base Camp → Rush Lake

    5–6 hrs hard trekking via Minapin Glacier moraine. 4,694m.

  4. Day 4 — Full day at Rush Lake

    Sunrise. Explore lake shore. Photography.

  5. Day 5 — Rush Lake → Tagafari

    Return, 5–6 hrs.

  6. Day 6 — Tagafari → Minapin → Karimabad

    Trek ends.
