Rakaposhi (7,788m) is the 27th highest mountain in the world and arguably the most photographed peak in Pakistan. Its massive south face rises an extraordinary 5,800m from the Hunza Valley floor. The trek to Rakaposhi Base Camp is challenging but enormously rewarding.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1 — Arrive Karimabad

    Briefing. Overnight hotel.

  2. Day 2 — Drive to Minapin + Trek to Tagafari

    4–5 hrs, 3,300m. Shepherd huts or camp.

  3. Day 3 — Tagafari → Rakaposhi Base Camp

    3–4 hrs, 3,800m. Epic south face views.

  4. Day 4 — Rest/acclimatization at Base Camp

    Hike to moraine for different angles. Sunrise views unmissable.

  5. Day 5 — Base Camp → Tagafari

    Return, 3–4 hrs.

  6. Day 6 — Tagafari → Minapin → Karimabad

    3–4 hrs trek + drive. Celebratory dinner.

  7. Day 7 — Return to Islamabad

    Via KKH or continue to next destination.
