Overview

Katora Lake is a stunning bowl-shaped alpine lake (the name means 'bowl') situated at approximately 3700m in the Kumrat Valley region of Upper Dir. The lake is fed by glacial melt from the surrounding peaks and can be reached via a demanding trek from Jahaz Banda meadows. Its emerald waters reflecting the surrounding snow-capped mountains make it one of the most photogenic high-altitude lakes in northern Pakistan.
