Overview
Jahaz Banda is a spectacular high-altitude meadow in the Kumrat Valley region of Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The name means 'ship meadow' because the flat-topped mountain overlooking the meadow resembles a ship. Surrounded by dense pine forests, cascading waterfalls and towering peaks, Jahaz Banda is accessed via a moderate trek from the village of Thal. The meadow connects to the even more remote Katora Lake, a bowl-shaped alpine lake fed by glacial melt.
